MUSHROOMS
Our Story

Meet the founder.

Three years ago, an idea took root in the San Fernando Valley and refused to let its keeper sleep. What followed is a small grove, a small team, and a small jar that punches well above its weight.

The Founder

Hayk built Golden Grove
one stubborn idea at a time.

“My name is Hayk, and I'm 44 years old. The idea of cultivating mushrooms and transforming them into innovative products first came to me three years ago. To me, an idea is the most contagious force in the world. Once it takes root in your mind, it won't let you sleep, not by day or by night.”

What started as a single shelf of trial jars in his garage in the San Fernando Valley has grown into a five-variety collection, packed by hand and shipped quietly across the United States. The recipes were refined slowly, too slowly, by most modern standards, and that's the whole point.

Every jar in the range is the same one Hayk would put on his own table. Nothing fancy. Just careful, intentional, real.

What we believe

Three things, taken seriously.

Sustainably Grown

Low-energy growing in the San Fernando Valley. Rainwater. Hardwood substrate. No pesticides. Ever.

Fermented for Time

21 to 32 day ferments depending on variety. Time is the most important ingredient in every jar.

Quietly Premium

No artificial colours, no thickeners, no shortcuts. Just food the way food is supposed to taste.

The Grove

San Fernando Valley, CA.
A slow place, just north of the city.

We grow and pack everything in the San Fernando Valley, a stretch of California tucked just north of Los Angeles. The valley's humidity and unhurried pace are surprisingly good for both mushrooms and people.

Our jars travel the country, but they start as substrate, water, and time, in a quiet shed under the hardwoods.
